KINGSLAND WINES & SPIRITS Based Manchester Area Salary circa £24k

Kingsland Wines & Spirits is a well established and rapidly expanding company sourcing wines globally and bottling and supplying both wines and spirits to the UK retail trade. With five bottling lines and bag-in-box capability there has been significant recent investment in all areas of the business including people, plant and site development.

Recent restructure within the Logistics/Technical area has resulted in the following opportunity: Packaging Technologist Reporting to the Purchasing and Planning Manager, the key objectives of this role is as follows:

• €¢ To support product development and marketing initiatives and progress new opportunities for innovation and cost reductions in the packaging field.

• €¢ Co-ordinate appropriate testing, evaluation and trialing of components

• €¢ Assist the Purchasing and planning manager in the development of value engineering packaging development projects.

• €¢ Carry out appropriate stability testing to ensure functionality and durability of packaging

• €¢ Communicating proactively with contacts in Purchasing, Planning, Marketing, Operations and with Packaging suppliers.

• €¢ To liaise with suppliers on non conforming packaging and follow up corrective actions and return of stock

• €¢ To present and advise Marketing on the technical feasibility of product concepts

• €¢ Taking into account environmental considerations, such as biodegradability or recycling opportunities and Packaging recovery notes.

The successful candidate should have excellent organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally. The applicant will be committed, flexible and diligent in this role; you will be a self-starter with strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail to enable you to work to project deadlines.

Experience of working in a FMCG environment preferably from a bottling background would be a distinct advantage and you should have good IT skills in particular Excel.
